Resolution: This issue was resolved in KB It is possible this issue will occur silently, and not result in the display of any error messages. Only some applications do this, not all. Applications which don't load these components should not experience this issue, and are expected to function normally when keyboard shortcuts are used.

Workaround: Changing input mode by clicking the IME mode icon in the taskbar should not trigger this issue. This issue occurs only when using keyboard shortcuts. Resolution : This issue was resolved in updates released November 29, KB and later.

An example of this connection scenario is when connecting to a Remote Desktop Services collection. RemoteApp and Desktop Connections are ways in which this connection is accomplished. Home users of Windows are unlikely to experience this issue, as the connection process described here is not the default used by the Windows Remote Desktop app. This issue can be observed when the client is at the "Loading virtual machine" or "Configuring remote connection" steps, and might occur regardless of the OS version installed on the remote computer.

In some cases, the error message "Your Remote Desktop Services session has ended" can appear. If the application becomes unresponsive, it might need to be terminated using Windows Task Manager. See the Workaround section for guidance. If the Remote Desktop application becomes unresponsive, Windows Task Manager can be used to terminate it. Devices that have encountered this issue can resolve it by configuring a special Group Policy. Re-using the account was blocked by security policy. This issue originates with the October security updates KB which introduced some hardening changes enabled by default for domain join.

Please see KB - Netjoin: Domain join hardening changes to understand the new designed behavior. Affected scenarios include some domain join or re-imaging operations where a computer account was created or pre-staged by a different identity than the identity used to join or re-join the computer to the domain. Next steps: Please see KB to understand the designed behavior.

We have added insights to this KB, and are evaluating whether optimizations can be made in a future Windows Update. This guidance will be updated once those changes have released. Using provisioning packages on Windows 11, version 22H2 also called Windows 11 Update might not work as expected.

Windows might only be partially configured, and the Out Of Box Experience might not finish or might restart unexpectedly. Provisioning packages are.

PPKG files which are used to help configure new devices for use on business or school networks. Provisioning packages which are applied during initial setup are most likely to be impacted by this issue. For more information on provisioning packages, please see Provisioning packages for Windows.

Note: Provisioning Windows devices using Windows Autopilot is not affected by this issue. Windows devices used by consumers in their home or small offices are not likely to be affected by this issue. Workaround: If you can provision the Windows device before upgrading to Windows 11, version 22H2, this will prevent the issue. Next steps: We are presently investigating and will provide an update in an upcoming release. We will share more information and documentation when we initially make these features available.

We plan a phased rollout timed with the October optional non-security preview release for these features and then they will be made broadly available in the November security update release 7. Going forward we will continue to announce, document and deliver new features and experiences when they are ready learn more.

We have listened to feedback on the overall Windows Update experience and are excited to announce two substantial improvements to the update experience for both feature and monthly updates for the Windows 11 Update.

September 20, marks the start of the 36 months of servicing support lifecycle for Enterprise and Education editions of Windows 11, version 22H2. We all need the latest technology to keep pace with working, learning, connecting and playing, and installing the Update is the best way you can keep your Windows device protected and productive. This also enables your device to receive the continuous innovation we will deliver over the next year with the Update.

Accessibility has long been a priority for Microsoft, and this update aims to make Windows 11 even easier to use. Both these apps are in the taskbar by default, so will benefit from another key feature: drag-and-drop. But the most significant accessibility feature is Live Captions. As the name suggests, this can automatically generate captions from any audio content you play throughout Windows The Update adds a preview of the Voice Access, which allows you control your entire device and compose text using just your voice.

Talking of touch input, the Update introduces several new touchscreen gestures that improve navigation without a cursor and keyboard. Swiping up from the bottom of the screen opens the Start menu, while swiping in from the right lets you access Quick Settings. Using three fingers, you can also swipe down to minimise apps and left or right to move between open ones. When you start a timer here, Do Not Disturb will automatically be enabled, turning off all notifications except those you specifically allow.

Video calls remain crucial to many people, something Microsoft has recognised. They include a new Controller Bar for easy access to recently played games and launchers using a controller, plus improvements to the Xbox Cloud Gaming experience using Microsoft Edge. Security updates were perhaps inevitable, and they include a new Smart App Control feature which will prevent untrusted apps from launching.
